You may be asking, “Why isn’t Robin Hooding available as an activity on Saturday?” Good question! Even though Keene’s parking meters say there is enforcement on Saturdays, that is no longer true – thanks to the efforts of the heroic members of Robin Hood of Keene! One of the three parking enforcers quit his job earlier this year, another one doesn’t work Saturdays, and the third is now refusing to work Saturdays due to heavy Robin Hooder presence. They just can’t find anyone willing to work that day and it has gone unenforced for weeks! Robin Hooding is proof that concentrating activists in one geographic area works!
There’s even a chance that the enforcers will not be out on Friday as the people calling themselves the “City of Keene” actively monitor our websites and in the court filing for the Robin Hood lawsuit they filed against us, they cite my post to this website earlier this year and express concern that 300 people will be in the streets of Keene doing Robin Hooding. While I wish Keenevention were that popular its first year out, that number is highly unrealistic. (Our attendance is more likely to be 100 and not everyone will want to go Robin Hooding.) However, their ridiculous paranoia may result in parking enforcers taking a day off on Friday this week. Come on out and see for yourself what happens!
Here are several other things you can do outside-the-hotel while in Keene for Keenevention – no Keenevention ticket necessary. Though, if you’d like to attend Keenevention, tickets for the whole weekend are just $50 until 10/31 and $60 at the door (or you can buy a day pass for $25).
