    Keenevention 2015 Day Three Recap

While in Keene, you can: Go Robin Hooding!

BizCard_FrontHave you been following the Robin Hood saga and found yourself wanting to join in and save people from getting parking tickets? Keenevention is your chance! Meet Robin Hood himself, James Cleaveland as he shows you the ropes on the streets of Keene. James will meet prospective Robin Hooders at the hotel at 10:30am and 1:30pm on Friday.

You may be asking, “Why isn’t Robin Hooding available as an activity on Saturday?” Good question! Even though Keene’s parking meters say there is enforcement on Saturdays, that is no longer true – thanks to the efforts of the heroic members of Robin Hood of Keene! One of the three parking enforcers quit his job earlier this year, another one doesn’t work Saturdays, and the third is now refusing to work Saturdays due to heavy Robin Hooder presence. They just can’t find anyone willing to work that day and it has gone unenforced for weeks! Robin Hooding is proof that concentrating activists in one geographic area works! (more…)

While in Keene, you can: Go Bowling & Sing Karaoke

karaokeOn Saturday night you are invited to join us at Yankee Lanes at 477 Park Avenue in West Keene for one of Keene activists’ favorite events! Karaoke will be held in the Lanes’ City Sports Grille, so you must be 21 or with a parent, and starts at 9pm and ends at Midnight.

Galactic Bowling is for all ages and starts at 9:30pm and goes till Midnight. Cost is $16 per person with includes UNLIMITED BOWLING until midnight and shoe rental. Keenevention has secured $5 off Galactic coupons, so this drops the price to just $11 per person!

Come out for a night of fun and laughs! Sing, bowl, or do both! There will be a sign-up sheet at the registration table at Keenevention so we can let Yankee Lanes know our group size. Here’s a facebook event for this activity.

While in Keene, you can: Goto NH2600 & Bitcoin Meetings

2600_BTCIt’s no secret the liberty activist community in the Shire is heavily skewed toward the geek/tech world. Appropriately, aside from the Tech and Bitcoin panels happening on Sunday at Keenevention, you’ll also be able to join some of the Tech panel for dinner at the monthly NH2600 meeting on Friday at Local Burger (82 Main St) at 6pm. Plus, there’s the weekly Keene Bitcoin Network meetup on Sunday at McCue’s (12 Emerald St.) at 5:30pm.

Keene Cop BlockKeene has been the home of Cop Block founders Ademo Freeman and Pete Eyre, and now you can take part in helping protect and inform our peaceful neighbors about their rights and hold the police accountable. While in Keene, you can: Go Hiking!

Sunset RockThis just in – there are now two hikes scheduled during Keenevention, both led by the NH Liberty Alliance‘s “Activist of the Year”, Keith Carlsen. Hiking is one of several outside-the-hotel activities happening this weekend. On Saturday, after the keynote speaker, Keith will take you up to “Sunset Rock” on Beech Hill. This hike is pretty easy and you will enjoy a view of downtown Keene. On Sunday, after the closing speaker, Keith will take you up West Hill. The view isn’t as nice as on Beech Hill/Sunset Rock, but Keith says you will feel this hike in your legs. Keith will meet prospective hikers at the hotel after the keynote speeches. The hikes will be cancelled if it rains.

While in Keene, you can: Visit Rich Paul!

Rich PaulWere he not in a jail cell, cannabis liberation activist Rich Paul would certainly have a featured speaking role at Keenevention 2013. However, he would love it if Keenevention came to him, so consider this something for your to-do list while in Keene:

You can easily visit Rich Paul at the Cheshire “House of Corrections” or as some activists call it, the “Keene Spiritual Retreat“. Unlike many jails, the Keene jail allows visiting every day for several hours per day. You do need to plan your visit at least a day in advance and you can do that via this online system. Sign yourself up and bring friends – you’ll get 30 minutes with Rich. If you don’t already know him, go anyway! He’d appreciate the company and is always entertaining to talk to.
